Uncle Tom’s Cabin (Chapter 3 Situation)

In Uncle Tom’s Cabin, I’ve gotten to chapter 4 which is where the story begins to change for the worst. In chapter 3 George goes to Eliza and tells her that he is going to try and escape because he just can’t take the torture any longer. Eliza trys to tell George to have faith in God, George’s master is asking him to take another woman as his wife. If I was in George’s position I would try my best to escape and get out of there as fast as possible. There aren’t any lawful marriages for slaves. Towards the end of the chapter George tells Eliza that he going to head north to Canada and fight for the freedom of her and Harry.

  1. I’m glad you added some content here. It sounds like you are making good progress. Remember not to simply give me plot summary every time but to do some analysis too. You have some ideas for how to approach that on the handout I gave you.
